Depends. Parkour is awesome cause it's REAL. It defeats the point if the author decides to throw in superhuman strength/power that is unnecessary.

I guess you can watch Air Gear cause it has that parkour feel although they use roller blades and have powers, but it's nice. Cliffhanger though.

I don't think there is one right now but it seems like it would be a cool anime.

not exactly, as long as the parkor segments are well animated, i think it will have the same effective, with or w/o super powers. because it still looks cool.

Could be interesting.

Though I can see it being very expensive to make, considering the frame rates and such...

Worst comes to the worst, we get another rotoscope.

As long as it stays to the core of parkour. Climbing fences and jumping from wall to wall is way cooler than one superman jump across three buildings.

A few titles approach the aesthetic you are describing, but with a different practice.

The best I could offer in terms of quality is Sakamichi no Apollon; it has to do with Jazz.

A lot of sports-related anime follows this trend, but I can't recommend it.

Air Gear is the closest to what you described, but it's not a great series. Group infrastructure is very important, and the rivals are prevalent. Not the least bit realistic. RideBack is apparently very similar, but I haven't seen it yet.

I would like to see some sort of parkour anime with zombies such as the game Dying Light. That would be something I would enjoy.

What, like Mirror's Edge as an anime series? That'd be pretty awesome.

A Parkour anime would be cool but it wouldn't sell in Japan, the studio making that anime would have to market and sell in the West first.

Why not? I'm sure it would sell if it had enough moe and oppai.

The animation quality would have to be good, and none of that annoying corner cutting that a lot of action anime use. No close ups, no movement lines, no vibrating still images. Just straight up pure animation please.

It should be like Mirror's Edge, but more fight-the-power kind of feel. As in, the parkour MC fights against a dystopian government.

Even as this is an old post now, I'd like to mention the new anime starting this winter season; Prince of Stride: Alternate. The anime has running in it and from the first episode has a bit of parkour, it's not exactly a parkour anime but it has some elements

No, it's actually parkour + free running. So yes, it's a lot of parkour.

note that they are adapted from otome game which is mean they are actually targetted to woman. so, don't do unecessary rant if it's not meet your expectation.

Ive watched a few animes aimed for girls, as long as theres good romance and they keep the parkour theme, then everything will be mint
(ive never used mint before.. i feel so elitist)

Well, since it is adapted from a manga, you can know about the real ending by just reading it...

The currently airing Prince of Stride is the closest thing that has come to freerun/Parkour. I recoqnised some freerunning/parkour elements like Kongs/ Double Kongs/ Wallruns / Flips.

Unbelievable shit for people who have seen me a lot on MAL:

I guess there was some parkour by Izaya in the first Durarara!!, but it's just lame chasing scenes when he plays around ( I think... might be from some ova or OP/ED, though).

Don't rly recall actual parcour in the shows I've seen (recently).

Pretty much all the comments above,

Try out Prince of stride: Alternative

HOWEVER, it would be quite hard to watch this purely for its sports.
POS targets a more fujoshi demography so there is bound to be more romantic implications between the male characters (but it's disguised as bromance so no worries, it never gets further than small discerns)

By the way, someone mentioned opening or sequences or whatever. I always think of the opening to Star Driver when I think of freerunning lol. I'm pretty sure there was also something else with a urban setting. Maybe Persona or Mekakucity Actors or whatever? Maybe Getbackers had sequences like that too. Hmmm.

Yes, apart from fanservice bits aimed at female audience, Prince of Stride is a somewhat decent representation of parkour in anime and worth a try. Although I wasn't fond of the idea of school competitions and would rather watch them do Stride/Parkour as something illegal and hold competitions at nights to avoid authorities. Just like Air Gear only without superpowers.
